Distance Learning, Simulation, Experiences and Clinical Recommendations
During these challenging times, we are all in this together. At Surgical Science we are committed to support the medical community as they sacrifice so much to treat us all during this crisis.
As institutions migrate to a remote learning approach, Surgical Science vowed to support medical educators so that they could continue to provide a quality educational experience. During the pandemic, videos, curricula, and other materials for self-study and remote learning are available free of charge for three months. Access them here.
Specifically regarding COVID-19 education, Surgical Science dropped everything to develop a module to train Simbionix U/S Mentor customers on how to best utilize lung ultrasound. This module is provided at no charge to anyone who has the U/S Mentor. Please contact us here to learn more.
Reacting to the knowledge gained during the pandemic, a Bedside Cardiac ICU Module was developed for the Simbionix ANGIO Mentor. It is designed to provide practice for interventions that are being performed at the bedside of suspected/confirmed COVID-19 patients without fluoroscopic guidance instead of the standard practice at the cath lab. The module includes simulation cases of Right Heart Catheterization (RHC) and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) interventions.
Since COVID-19 knowledge is ever-changing, we have gathered the latest clinical recommendations from professional associations. We will continue to share the experience of medical experts for the benefit of caregivers worldwide.
We asked clinicians to share their firsthand accounts during these unprecedented days. These Shared Experiences are thoughtful insights that may prove helpful as the medical community struggles to keep us all healthy while defeating this threat.
3D Printing: If you are able to offer your engineering team’s time and expertise, or access to 3D printers, we would greatly appreciate your support. Conversely, if you are a medical device manufacturer, hospital, or healthcare provider that needs help to bridge a supply chain gap, please let us know of your needs. We will do everything possible to fulfill your request. Contact us here.
We are doing all that we can to help battle COVID-19. This is our commitment to the medical community.
