PELVIC MENTOR
FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Anatomical View Mode

One of the major difficulties in understanding pelvic anatomy and the pelvic exam is the lack of ability to see the actions performed inside the pelvis. This is a challenge for trainers who do not have any indication on what the trainee is performing inside the pelvis and cannot track their performance.

The anatomical view enables users to see the internal organs and track the palpation inside the physical model.

Tasks may all be displayed in both modes based on the trainee’s level.

Dynamic Virtual Model

Palpation on and inside the anatomical model is reflected on the virtual model to allow the trainee to better understand the anatomy and reduce the learning curve.

The virtual model features an advanced anatomical atlas, enabling a dynamic review of:

  • Muscles
  • Organs
  • Bones
  • Blood vessels
  • Visceral structures
  • Ligaments
Anatomical customization

Software customization allows the course director full control of the organs to be included in a specific course. The trainer can decide on the number of organs and the order in which they will appear in a task.

Anatomical customization

Realistic mannequin

The mannequin is highly realistic, providing a feeling as close to a live patient as possible, both in terms of anatomical structure and materials texture. This results in the learner receiving a very accurate and realistic palpation sensation. Since the mannequin is synchronized with the computerized 3D virtual reality system, every step the user performs inside the mannequin is presented on the monitor in real time.

Easy replacement mechanism

During training it is important that the trainee encounter various pathologies and anatomical structures. The simulator’s interchangeable cartridges are easily replaced to represent normal and pathological structures. An automatic recognition mechanism allows easy definition of the interchangeable part with no requirement of manual selection.

Practice / test opportunity

Each of the modules enables the trainee to practice the relevant skills required, followed by an exam to determine skill level.

Anatomical labeling

Dynamic labels appear on the relevant organs on the virtual model in correspondence with the anatomical section being palpated. To facilitate anatomical understanding a mouse over on an anatomical name listed in the anatomical tree will cause the corresponding organ to be highlighted on the virtual model.

Performance reports

Detailed reports are available at the end of each training session to allow the learner and the trainer an objective review of practice results.
