PROcedure Rehearsal Studio

3D Visualization for Patient Specific Cardiovascular Procedures

Endovascular procedures might pose challenges even to the most experienced interventional physicians. In an attempt to assist clinicians prepare for their upcoming intervention, Simbionix developed the PROcedure Rehearsal Studio, which allows clinicians to create a patient specific 3D virtual anatomical model based on the patient’s CT.
Once the virtual model of the live patient’s exact anatomy has been reconstructed on the Simbionix ANGIO Mentor Simulator, the physician can use it to plan and practice an endovascular intervention. By doing so, the likelihood of an optimal outcome is increased and risk to the live patient is decreased, as supported by both clinical and validation studies.

During practice on the virtual model, the physician can determine the appropriate access strategy, select tools and equipment (guidewires, catheters, stents, etc.) and choose the most effective fluoroscopic views. Using the PROcedure may also lead to reducing radiation exposure for both the patient and medical staff, shortening cathlab time and decreasing contrast dye use, which will potentially lead to a reduction in all procedure costs.
The PROcedure Rehearsal Studio™ is suitable for interventional cardiology, interventional radiology, vascular surgery and vascular neurology. Currently this advanced technology is available for Carotid Stenting and EVAR.

Upcoming developments include: TEVAR and Coronary Intervention.
