AF ABLATION MODULE
This module provides practice of atrial fibrillation (AF) treatment using pulmonary vein isolation.
It allows practice of 2 ablation technologies – Cryoablation and RF Ablation. Life threatening complications such as pericardial effusion, aortic puncture and phrenic nerve damage can occur during the case as a result of trainee actions or can be triggered by the proctor. The module contains realistic EP signals that allow the trainee to interpret the pulmonary vein isolation status in real time.
The virtual patient anatomies vary in Fossa Ovalis stiffness as well as pulmonary vein structure.
Module Features:
ICE (Intracardiac Echocardiography)
Maneurvering an ICE catheter with a realistic handle provides real time echo visualization and PV position verification.
Doppler
The Echo image is supplemented with doppler colors, which enable verification of blood flow and balloon occlusion prior to ablation
Pre-defined Views
The ICE virtual panel helps the trainee to achieve the best view of the pulmonary veins
